DU Lobby now open to public:

DU has reopened its Main Lobby to counter payments.  In-office customer service will also resume by appointment only. Social distancing measures and safety precautions will be in place and DU will limit the number of customers in the lobby.

Disconnections have resumed:

DU asks that customers who have past-due bills contact Customer Service at 256-552-1400 Opt. 4 to discuss possible payment arrangements and avoid disconnection.     More info here.

For more than 80 years, Decatur Utilities (DU) has provided reliable utility service to the greater Decatur, Alabama area. Today, DU provides electricity, natural gas, water and wastewater services to more than 30,000 customers.

 

DU is dedicated to delivering quality services at some of the lowest rates in the Tennessee Valley. In fact, our combined utility bill for all four services is the lowest in the State of Alabama among all municipalities.

 

Our employees are also active in volunteer service projects and love to "give back" to our community through efforts like the annual Dragon Boat Race, United Way, Breast Cancer Awareness Month and other great causes throughout the year.
