Foreman​ - Gas/Water/Wastewater Construction

Responsible for the coordination, planning and oversight of the installation, maintenance, repair and inspection of gas, water or wastewater mains and service lines.  

High school diploma or GED.  Minimum 4-6 years related utility/construction work experience. Experience in leading crews preferred. Valid Alabama Driver’s License with Class A CDL; DOT Gas Pipeline Operator Qualifications; Plastic Fusion Certification; CPR/First Aid Certification; Customer Service Skills, Supervisory/Leadership Skills and applicable safety training.  Grade I Water or Wastewater Certification must be obtained within one year of accepting position.

Utility Engineer I - Electric

Plans, evaluates and designs electric distribution and transmission facilities.  Primary duties include completing designs for electric facilities and system studies for power quality, load management and maintenance.

Ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor degree (B.S.) in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university with 2-4 years relevant engineering experience with electric utility system. May consider B.S. degree in a related technical field with a minimum of 10 years related engineering experience within an electric utility.

Billing Representative (Part-time)

Maintains the billing process in order to ensure accurate and efficient utility billing. This includes scheduling, reviewing, researching and compiling various amounts of data in order to process billing and make necessary adjustments.

Must have High School Diploma or GED equivalent, minimum 2 years’ additional related work experience, good math skills and excellent communication skills. 

Typical work schedule is M-F 4 hours a day.

Industrial Plant Electrician - Water Treatment Plant

Plans layout, installs and repairs wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus and control equipment at the water treatment plant facilities. This includes emergency plant situations that require after-hours or weekend call out.


Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school in electrical, electronic and/or instrumentation field and 6-8 years’ experience in electrical/electronic/instrumentation equipment repair. Requires valid Alabama driver license preferably with Class A CDL or ability to obtain a Class A CDL. Good driving record required.

Lineman Apprentice - Electric Department

Constructs, maintains and repairs electric system as apprentice-in-training for the position of Lineman.
Valid Alabama Driver License with Class A CDL within first 6 months in apprentice program; Department of Labor Lineman Apprenticeship Certification; CPR/First Aid Certification; Customer Service Skills and applicable safety training. Work-Keys required; a score of 4 or better in Applied Math, Applied Technology and a score of 3 in Work Place Observation. Good driving record.

Performs unskilled and semiskilled general labor duties in construction, maintenance, repairs and services of the Gas, Water and Wastewater systems. Work-Keys Silver Certificate required; a score of 4 or better in Applied Math, Graphic Literacy and Work Place Documents. Good driving record.
