Billing Representative

Maintains the billing process in order to ensure accurate and efficient utility billing. This includes scheduling, reviewing, researching and compiling various amounts of data in order to process billing and make necessary adjustments.

Under general supervision, performs inspections, sampling, monitoring and reporting of industrial, commercial and domestic wastewater collection systems, private on-site wastewater treatment facilities, grease interceptors and sand/oil interceptors; ensures compliance with Federal, State and local discharge regulations; and performs other related duties as required.

Plant Operator - Grade IV - Water Treatment Plant

Operates treatment plant on a shift basis, adhering to Decatur Utilities, Alabama Department of Environmental Management (ADEM) and EPA regulations and safety procedures. This position is responsible for testing and making adjustments in treatment processes as needed to maintain these regulations.

Operates and performs general maintenance on heavy equipment used in the installation and maintenance of Gas, Water and Wastewater utility facilities by operating heavy utility equipment to ensure safe working area for crew members, following proper trenching and excavation procedures, moving and positioning pipe, excavating and backfilling in addition to other duties as assigned.

Dispatcher I - Electric Operations

Receives and dispatches utility trouble calls and assists in the restoration of utility service to the general public. Enters individual trouble calls for residential, commercial and industrial customers in OMS, maintains the outage database, tracks service restoration efforts, sets service restoration priorities and assigns crews to specific trouble areas. Follows up with customers to ensure service has been restored. Other duties as assigned.
